OHL COVID-19 Guidelines and Protocols
Updated April 25, 2023
Our top priority is the health and safety of our students, teachers and families.
- Masking:
- Masking is required for anyone who shows any symptoms of illness (cough, headache, nausea, nasal congestion, rash, diarrhea, etc.).
- Symptomatic individual:
- If your child is ill, keep them at home and return to school only after symptoms resolve.
- Test at onset of symptoms. If negative, retest after 48 hours if symptoms persist.
- Individual who tests positive for COVID-19:
- Isolate at home for at least five days from onset of symptoms, or in asymptomatic cases, isolate for 5 days from positive test result.
- After day 5, return to school once testing negative on an antigen test, or on day 10 if still testing positive.
- Masking is recommended on days 6-10, even after symptoms have resolved.
- Exposed individual:
- For ten days after exposure, monitor symptoms:
- Continue to come to school if asymptomatic.
- Test immediately if symptoms develop, or on day 5 following exposure if asymptomatic.
- Masking is recommended for at least 5 days after exposure.
- Individual exposed consistently at home:
- Quarantine for ten days from the onset of the positive individual’s symptoms and provide a negative COVID test on or after the tenth day.*
We are continually monitoring community transmission and may modify these guidelines based on local and CDC guidance in order to keep our community safe.
